The War of Red Snow

Bronze Age of Realms
After his victory to retake his homeland with help from the God's gift of the Jimsaw, the newly crowned king of Red Akhet, King Valdik raised a fleet with funding and support from the Church of Barrier Ascension and left to wage war on the invaders. The seven year war was one of most costly human wars recorded in the Bronze Age Era with both sides holding no notion of high honor against one another. The Northern Lands and raging seas cost King Valdik's army much, his crimson heavy knights in the cold proving useless. However any protracted engagement the King and and his worshipers and zealous magic capable veterans burned swaths through the Northern Armies. The Northern Armies so desperate to finish the war before the harsher colder days of deep winter they did break their oaths of Crescent Chains Accords; unleashing their stolen technologies they had gleaned and tortured from the Black Mantle, unruly and unstable hard-light tech.
However instead of retreating Valdik dug in and created a large network of trenches known as the Crimson Trenches; forgoing his Calvary making the war last even longer sapping the moral and resources of the tribes. The war ended in the bloodiest siege yet that lasted a year at the Northern Citadel of Crescent. Many of those people of the norther tribes were taken back to Red Akhet as slaves at the end of the war.
