Governmental Reign:
120 G.A. (Golden Age of Realms)- A.C. (Age of Convergence/Current)
Governmental Structure
The Government of the Empire of the Red Eye at first seems very loose but is a relatively strict theocratic caste system that outsiders don't understand for the most part due to the lenience in the leadership towards lower caste members. This is primarily due to the Kurlik ridge mindset of shared responsibility as well as shared work ethic. The Kurlik work hard and grow stronger as they see their fellow members fall in battle; competition is seen as a responsibility to grow for each Kurlik in the empire and tasks, culture, and rules adhered to religiously without any true form of constitution or lengthy written rules. These rules and laws are passed down by word of mouth as well as written in "The Code" that each Kurlik is born with when created.
This caste system is nearly the same as the one kept while they were enslaved by the The Crimson Empire but has changed in terms of enforcement. Primary the Vat Priests have been removed as ultimate heads of the military hand chosen by the Durhan when the Kurlik were under their rule. Although they retain the political power as the defacto religious leaders of the empire, they now only hold charge over the creation of Kurlik, the air forces of the empire, and the general engineering and maintenance of the empire. Additionally they must apprentice as a Brown Mantle Choir before they earn their rank as Vat Priests. Furthermore, now a new Caste so named after Red Eyes role in the military was formed during the rebellion of the Empire of the Red Eye, the Knights who have proven themselves in the fires of service and become the Tactician and Generals of the Empire.
War-masters of the Red Eye
Each battle group is ruled by one or several Knight Caste Members with assisting Vat Priests; within those upper ranks the members most proven in battle will take residence as the residing war council for their battle group. They make reports to any senior Empire of the Red Eye Caste members of the nearest largest battle group; creating a chain until it reaches a Khran. Khrans report directly to the War-masters of the Red Eye; the loose governmental leaders all proven Khran's of the Kurlik society. While many of the decisions are made at a much lower level it is this Council that makes wider spread sweeping military or political decision.

Tactics of the Empire of Red Eye:
Known for their vicious suicide attack tactics; the Empire of the Red Eye blends the classic methods used when they were the foot solders of the Crimson Empire, with more advanced methods of combat to trick and other wise overcome their enemies who often are better equipped. In addition they utilize newfound Relics they they seek out from their lost older civilizations; these powerful relics are relegated to specific special force castes that augment the forces of their military.
Once the Kurlik get "Stuck In" to a battle, for ground forces there is often no retreat, it is in these desperate land based battles that they excel. Becoming masters of skirmishing and disablement after their initial rush fails, they are known for using their skills with the Bio-web and innate semi-Majket energies to seed chaos among their enemies ranks, creating enough of a distraction for their air support and reinforcements to come to fore, and another wave of Kurlik warriors can crash against their enemies.

Religion of the Empire of the Red Eye
The same as Crimsonism with some notable differences:
Despite the betrayal of The Black Mantle, the Kurlik still believe in the Crimson King and that they are the chosen race, brought about to destroy the Taint and the Durhan who have forgotten their mission of destroying the taint and instead joined it. The Kurlik see the Red Eye as a Kurlik that has ascended to sit at the right hand of the Crimson King as his "Lens" into Reality. Thus Kurlik view Red Eye as the conduit of receiving the blessing of the Crimson King. The additional worship him as the "Guide" of the Crimson King, seeing the Crimson King as the source of the Taint, which furthermore are viewed as the sins committed against the Crimson King. By destroying the Taint the Kurlik believe they give the Crimson King a better chance with the guidance of the Red Eye to be at peace: a modified philosophy of Mechanis Crimsonism.
There is a concentrated effort by the Kurlik to reconnect to who they were before the Founder and find pure "Code" to remove the blemishes put in their genetic code by the Durhan which made them less effective as a fighting force while in large groups. Also considered highly religious and guarded is "The Code" which is simply the Kurlik genetic code used to create new Kurlik out of inert Taint and genomes stored by the Priests. Vat Priests strive to make sure each Kurlik made is not a copy of another and as such go to great efforts trying to purify "The Code".

Castes of the Empire of the Red Eye
EMPIRE CASTE MEMBER
When Kurlik are born they are birthed fully formed and functionally, ready for battle or work. They are immediately assigned to tasks after the imperfections are modified by Vat Priests with mechanical modifications and Armor pieces they will wear the rest of their lives due to the integrated nature. They are given an option to join as in mantle Choir Chain should they wish higher possible rankings within the government; however if not Kurlik Caste Members still have some upwards mobility by distinguishing themselves in battle; where if proven great warriors they can join the Berserker Caste, Ranger Caste, or Sovereign Caste. Most however are perfectly content simply living out the rest of their lives working for the Empire as their base workers and warriors. |
EMPIRE MANTLE CHOIR MEMBER
Those Kurlik who are born and chose the route of being a Mantle Choir Member are linked to a group of other Members; these members lose all but the most basic of thought process as the additional augmentations and shackles in-placed on them tie them directly to the Brown Mantle Foci energies (although this is mostly unknown) within the Kurlik sacred "Code" and their minds used as processors for much of the Empires Technology. Members of the Mantle Choir preform the sacred duty of powering the machinery of the Empire. They additionally work under the mind of a senior Vat Priest in creating new machinery and the building of weapons, items, ships, and other forms of machinery. As the powering of such energies can be taxing the Mantle Choir Members have some of the shortest life spans as their bodies are used as redundant batteries tied to the Kurlik power systems should they fail. |
EMPIRE RANGER CASTE
Those few Kurlik that survive the suicidal first waves of the Empire's attack will often find themselves stuck behind enemy lines desperately trying to sow chaos for as long as possible until the next wave of reinforcements. Those that can survive until said reinforcements are given the rank Ranger Caste. Ranger Castes are operatives who have proven their prowess at survival no matter what the means. As such they are give more option of weaponry and often act as scouts, snipers, fast attack vehicle operators or other specialty tasks. The greatest Task given to Ranger Caste Members is the retrieval of Kurlik Artifiacts which the Empire coverts for their history, and power. |
KURLIK BESERKER CASTE
Many Kurlik who survive more then one battle soon find themselves needing many replacement parts for missing limbs or other such maladies. As was the tradition even during their enslavement to the Durhan, the Vat Priests augment Kurlik with numerous machinery to boast their combat efficiency. Such Caste Warriors join the Beserker Caste; so many augmentations added to their body that they fly into a rage when combat is met. Brutal close combatants; the Beserkers seek out the strongest opponents, and attacking to inspire their fellow Kurlik. Some few Beserkers haven been know to achieve the required "Inner Code" and be granted the rank of Knight, as Red Eye had attained when he was a Beserker. As such it is the only Caste that allows some upwards mobility, as even Kurlik who are outside the Empire become Beserker Caste Members. |
KURLIK SOVEREIGN CASTE
While not as proven in battle as the Ranger or Beserker Caste; the sovereign caste are those Kurlik who have trained their whole lives learning the machinery and repairs of ships and other such battle gear. While not as adapt as Vat Priests Sovereign Caste Members are given charge equipment that they have proven themselves adapt at handling. Either it be space ship or mechanized body suit these Kurlik become the tools in the Empires bag to deal with numerous of their problems. Sovereign Caste members are integral to the continued battle-line replenishment's, fixes, and repairs required on a nearly second by second basis. Ingenious in their adaptability, members can find the use of the scraps of most any debris or metal refuse; engineering new armaments for their brothers with expert battle awareness. |
EMPIRE KNIGHT CASTE
Those that attain what the Kurlik call "Truth of Code" are allowed to become knights from either the Beserker Caste or Mantle Choir Caste. The members of this caste are elite warriors mentally vastly superior to the rest of their ilk able to manage the organization of millions of Kurlik on their own. Re-known for the expert battle plans the Knight Caste are the leaders, organizers and generals of the Empire of the Red Eye. As they are in tune with their innate Bio-web, they can augment and hack enemies and allies alike on the fly utilizing this to better coordinate attacks of their solders as well as confuse their enemies. |
EMPIRE VAT PRIEST
Having undergone an extremely lengthy proving process as a Mantle Choir member those Kurlik wishing to become Vat Priests undergo the next procedure of replacing all but their key biological components with mechanical parts to better allow them access into "The Code." Should they survive this process they are baptized as Vat Priests and given the sacred job of maintaining the Reactors on the Empire's Capital Ships, the production of Kurlik, and the sacred duty of Priests of the Empire. Vat Priests are rarely seen in battle but when they are they rally all Kurlik around them. Masters of Bio-manipulation Vat Priests become the centers of many a front line rush to destroy the enemy; capable of hacking into the very bodies of the enemies and allowing their allies to feel no pain or fear. |
